Exchange Of New Year Greetings with President Of The DRC And Members Of The Diplomatic Corps In Kinshasa

On Saturday, 31st January 2026, the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, H.E. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, received the New Year greetings from the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the country at the Palais de la Nation in Kinshasa. The well-attended ceremony brought together Ambassadors, Heads of Missions, and International representatives to exchange best wishes for peace, prosperity, and strengthened cooperation in the year ahead. The event reaffirmed Kinshasa’s longstanding commitment to diplomatic engagement and multilateral collaboration in addressing both regional and global challenges. 

In his address, President Tshisekedi underscored the importance of upholding the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all nations, principles he described as essential to a just and sustainable international order. He highlighted the ongoing efforts of the DRC to promote peace and stability, particularly in the face of security challenges in the eastern part of the country, and called for concerted international support for mechanisms grounded in international law and collective political commitment. The President also outlined national priorities for 2026, including the acceleration of economic transformation, enhanced governance, and the consolidation of national unity.

The Diplomatic Corps, led by its Dean, offered warm greetings and reaffirmed their readiness to support the DRC’s development objectives and diplomatic engagements. In turn, President Tshisekedi expressed gratitude for the Corps’ continued collaboration, emphasizing the value of shared partnerships that respect mutual interests and contribute to regional integration. The ceremony closed with the President extending his sincere wishes of peace, prosperity, and confidence in the strength of law and institutions for all present.
